During the winter months, except on special occasions, the Sunday morning service is being held in the church hall instead of the main church to economise on heating costs.

Mr. Bryn Rees gave a welcome to the visiting preacher, Mr. Gerald Tait, who represents the Gideons in the county of Pembrokeshire. They place bibles in hotels and guest houses, and offer a copy of a bible to each child on entry to a secondary school. A million copies of the bible are distributed worldwide every six days.

Ann, at the keyboard, with Tessa, Barbara and Frank accompanying her on their respective instruments, led the worship.

Prayers for local situations, together with worldwide concerns, were expressed by many of the congregation present.

Gerald, in his address, reminded the congregation of the theme found in the OT book, Solomon's Song of Songs, where the King visits a vineyard disguised as a shepherd to woo his beloved in order to gain her love for him as he was as a person not the King.

Gerald presented this story as an Old Testament picture of the coming of Jesus. Paul writing to the Philippian church speaks of Jesus, 'but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant'.

Gerald concluded his address with several practical illustrations as to how a Christian should adopt a 'servant' nature in living there everyday lives.
