Mr. Gerald Duffett welcomed friends into a warm church, the weather outside being somewhat chilly. Mrs. Phyllis Duffett gave the family notices. The worship was led by the music group, Barbara, Nan, and Tessa. Phyllis, who encouraged us look on the brighter side of live in our daily living, led the open prayer time.
Our thoughts in prayer included our concern for persons in the underdeveloped countries of the world.
The sermon and reading was given by Gerald. Gerald choose words from Psalm 139, which he read from the translation in the message, verse 14 'I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful'. Gerald reminded us that this theme was echoed by Paul in his letter to the Ephesians, 'For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. God, our maker, has come in human flesh in Jesus. These and other facts provide the Christian with the motivation for celebration of praise.'
The parent toddler group which usually meets on Thursday mornings will not do so during the coming week because of the school half-term holiday.
