Fine, sunny weather accompanied the worshippers, who were welcomed by Mr. Bryn Rees on Sunday. The songs and music were in the capable hands of Mrs. Tessa Ovenden, Mrs. Nancy Dowell, Miss Barbara Willcox and Alan Hunter. During the prayer time, which was introduced by Bryn, the situation in Burma, China, the world shortages of food and the high cost of oil particularly and how this would affect the underdeveloped world, were in everyone's thoughts. The Junior Light Seekers Club met in the church hall, with Mrs. Helen Hills in charge. Mr. Ken Wilson from Fishguard, who was accompanied by his wife Sally, took as the theme for his sermon, 'The Good News', echoing the words of Jesus in Nazareth, "I have come to preach good news...' Ken spoke about a quality of life here and now; knowing God through Jesus Christ enhances and transforms our life. But we also have the assurance of eternal life in the future. This news Christians should share with others by modelling our own lives on that of 'The Good Shepherd'- speaking with the shepherd's voice - having the word of God in our minds and the Spirit of God in our hearts. The service concluded with the celebration of the Lord's Supper. Next week, the Parent Toddler Group meets in the church hall on Thursday between 10 am and noon. On Sunday, the speaker will be Mr. Frank Howard.
