Visitors and friends were welcomed, on entering the church, by Mr. Bill Dowell, and the family news was given by the church secretary. Mrs. Sally Lloyd, who had chosen the worship songs, led this part of the service. Open prayer time was introduced by the visiting preacher, Mr. Arfon Jones, and several members of the congregation were encouraged by the prayers offered.  Arfon took as his text the words given to the children of Israel in the book of Leviticus, 'The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously and it must not go out.' He linked this to the life of faith in the Christian and the church. The fire being God sent, the fire of His Holy Spirit. Refreshments were enjoyed afterwards in the Church Hall.
