A fine sunny morning brought out many to worship on Sunday. After a welcome and the church's family news, given by the pastor, Mrs. Sally Lloyd interspersed the worship time with several salient readings from the scriptures. Prayers were led by Mrs. Ann Pattenden. Pastor Tom Torok took as his theme an incident from the early life of the writer of the first gospel, Mathew. Mathew responded to the call of Jesus, 'Follow Me', which is a common call to all Chistians. This resulted for Mathew in a change in lifestyle, and Jesus commenting on this, hit back at the religious people of his day that he preferred a flexible heart (spirit of love) to an inflexible ritual (religion). "I'm here to invite outsiders, not coddle insiders." These truths are as adapt today as they were 2,000 years ago. This week, the church hall was 'transformed' into an ancient Egypt landscape for the 'Pyramid Rock Holiday Club', where many young people heard the life story of Joseph, depicted in a modern context, and were shown how God could help and transform their lives today. This Sunday morning will see the conclusion of the story.
