Following their sell-out success last October, the award-winning Torch Theatre Company's critically acclaimed production of Dead Funny by Terry Johnson, is touring Wales in July.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to meet the Dead Funny Society, the fan club at the heart of the sharpest comedy of the decade. The members' obsessive devotion to the routines and genius of Britain's greatest comedians makes trainspotters seem normal. All it takes is the untimely demise of Benny Hill to send two mismatched couples and their neighbour into an unseemly conflict of chaos and hilarity. Unashamedly adult, this award winning play has a marvellous mix of hilarious comedy and surprising tenderness - it's a brilliant analysis of fragile marriages. The recreation of classic sketches by the likes of Morecambe and Wise, Max Miller, Frankie Howerd and Tony Hancock and custard pie fights have us guffawing as the tragedy unfolds. This is 24 carat comedy, a real tonic for jaded souls that does exactly what it says on the tin!
Directed by Peter Doran and designed by Sean Crowley, starring Richard Nichols, Lynne Seymour, Liam Tobin, Rebecca Wingate and Ken Oxtoby.
Dead Funny was first performed at The Hampstead Theatre in 1994 and went on to enjoy a hugely successful run in the West End, subsequently winning a number of awards, including Best New Play (Critics' Circle), The Writers' Guild Award for the Best West End Play and an award to Terry Johnson as Playwright of the Year. Warning! This play contains nudity, strong language and is very funny.
The production will be staged at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven between July 25-29. To book tickets, telephone the Box Office on 01646 695267.
