NO more lazy Sunday afternoons. The De Valence Youth Theatre has embarked on its annual theatrical voyage, this time under the joint captaincy of master of the music Clive Raymond, facilitator Tapley and ship's surgeon Cath Graham.
This year, they are sailing the good ship development and to that end their Christmas destination is small revue quay and not the port of full blown performance. They will be reaching that said port next May.
They are currently taking on provisions at half-term dock and will be setting sail on Sunday, November 2, and are looking for more young ship-mates to join them.
The younger crew, Year 6 and below, set sail at 2 pm and dock at 3.30 pm, while the older sea dogs are from 3.30 to 5 pm.
On this momentous voyage, they will be aiming to improve the performance, voices and theatrical understanding of all the crew and to arrive at all their destinations with increased performance confidence.
All this will be done through a sea of games and fun exercises. They are also looking for people who have surfed on the creation wave, either below or above deck, to come on board and act as a guiding group to the ship's captains and the ship as a whole.
If you would like to pass on your wisdom, please contact the De Valence on (01834) 843568 and leave your contact details. So take the plunge and get your feet wet. Ooh aaarr, me mateys. Oooh aaar, squawk!
