There were special birthday celebrations galore last Friday for Mrs. Lillian Lowe, of Tenby, who was 100-years-old. Mrs. Lowe's day began with a hug and a kiss from the postman who delivered a sackful of cards, including greetings from HM The Queen, First Minister Rhodri Morgan, and Peter Hain, Wales and Northern Ireland Secretary. Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Trevor Hallett, then called in to wish her a happy birthday and presented her with a bouquet of flowers. It was then off to the Fourcroft Hotel for a family party. On arrival, she was surprised to be serenaded by the Stringdipity Classical Music Quartet - her daughter-in-law Sian, granddaughter Hannah, and her friends Carys Bromby and Lily Whitehurst, who played happy birthday. There then followed a wonderful lunch with all her family - including her three children, David and his wife Christine, Peter and his wife Ray, and Carole and her partner Chris, together with her brother and sister, nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, plus her seven grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Hannah then entertained the guests with further delightful violin solos, accompanied by her mum Sian, prior to Mrs. Lowe cutting a magnificent birthday cake made by Mrs. Carwen Harry, which rounded off a memorable day. Mrs. Lowe, who made a wonderful birthday speech during the party, was overwhelmed by the many cards, gifts, flowers and best wishes and would like to thank everyone for their kindness. She would also like to thank family and friends who gave donations to Tenby RNLI, which amounted to £510.

100-year-old Mrs. Lillian Lowe is seen blowing out the candles on her birthday cake with the assistance of great-grandchilden Hannah, Kaylee and Robyn.
