As a founder member of Mencap, I am writing this letter.

Sixty-one years ago, 'Parents of Backward Children' was formed, now Mencap.

Fifty years ago, my husband, as executive member of Mencap, with others, set up 'Visiting Trust Fund', intended to come into action on the death of named parent.

June 2011, the 'named parent' had a visit from Mencap. I was given the choice of the Visiting Service to start now.

At 92 years of age, I will have the joy of seeing the service in action.

What a miracle.
