Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk 2009 takes place on Sunday, May 17.
Says Katherine Lowery, Macmillan Cancer Support's fund-raising manager for South West Wales: "Start the new year with a healthy bang and walk your way to health and vitality!
"Join us for the Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk where walkers will be setting off at dawn, and taking in a very scenic route of 26 miles, starting at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, and finishing in Cresselly Cricket Club.
"There is also a shorter walk of 13 miles starting at Loveston Crossroads."
During the three years, over £82,000 has been raised for charity and Macmillan Cancer Support will be helping to organise the event together with the help of the voluntary walking committee.
Alison Lewis, a founder member of the dawn walk committee, is encouraging everyone to take part this year.
She said: "I have received so many enquiries so far from people wanting to take part. It is a fantastic opportunity to get fit. Walking is the most natural and probably the most accessible sport that you can do and we even supply training hints with your entry pack. Please join us for what promises to be a very sociable, exhilarating day out, whether you decide to do the full marathon or the half marathon starting later at Yerbeston."
The health benefits are endless, the route is well signposted, with refreshment stops along the way, finishing with a well deserved party at the Cresselly Cricket Club!
This year, it is hoped to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support in the Pembrokeshire area to help fund a number of projects, as well as new Macmillan nurses, cancer and benefits helplines and many more services essential to those affected by cancer, so please register early to ensure your place!
