Tenby Leisure Centre hosted its Adult Lengths Competition during October. The challenge was simple: whoever swam the most lengths during the month won free swimming tickets. The results can be seen below.

16-24 years - Amelia Rowell (406 lengths or 6.4 miles); Sarah Thomas (357 lengths or 5.6 miles).

25-34 years - No Entrants.

35-44 - Alison Jones (820 length or 12.8 miles); Carol Brown (752 lengths or 11.9 miles).

45-60 years Phillip Hughes (2,510 lengths or 39.2 miles); Hilary Sutton (1,064 lengths or 17 miles).

60-65 years - Aldo Sterlini (1546 lengths or 23 miles); Alan Lesser (656 lengths or 10.2 miles).

65-plus years - Mrs. D. Mortimer (624 lengths or 9.8 miles).

The competition got highly competitive between Phillip Hughes and David Barrow, with both swimmers sneaking in for two swimming sessions per day during the last week, but David Barrow managed to complete a few more lengths and took the overall winner's shield with a whopping 2,816 - that's 44 miles!

Tenby Leisure is participating in the BT Swimathon during the week March 18-24 and application forms are available from the reception.

They would also like to inform parents that the next registration day for swimming lessons and toddlers splash is on January 6 at 9 am.
