Throughout the summer, various events have been held to raise money for the Daniel Burrows Trust Fund.

The Fund was set-up after an appeal was launched to help send 12-year-old Daniel, who is battling his second bout of cancer, on the holiday of a lifetime to Florida.

Here his mother, Cheryl highlights some of the events and thanks those involved for their generosity:

BELVEDERE FETE

Daniel and his family would like to give a special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd, proprietors of the Belverdere Residential Home, the members of staff who helped with last week's fete, friends, families and the residents.

A special thank you goes out to Nan, Millie who made the scones, cakes and sponges that were sold and the lovely cream teas.

It was a lovely afternoon with the tombola, raffles and stalls that did very well. We thank you so much for your very kind support that you have always shown for Daniel.

The family would also like to thank all the people who donated lovely raffle prizes in the area of Tenby, Kilgetty and beyond. Your whole support will not be forgotten. The total raised for the Daniel Burrows Trust Fund during the afternoon, was £400.

SPONSORED BIKE RIDE

Daniel would also like to say a special thank you to Simon Lewis. In August, he did a bike ride from Coventry to Tenby covering over 227.3 miles for the trust fund. The total figure raised is still being calculated. Simon has an injury to his hand and arm and is wished a speedy recovery. It took a lot of courage and determination from Simon to complete this challenge. Well done and many thanks to you.

BOTTLE COLLECTION

Daniel would like to thank Mr. John Lander, of the Lamb Inn for having a collection bottle on his bar and raising in total £123.30. We all wish him good luck for the future.

Thanks also go to Damian and Jackie Brown from the Sun Inn who also had a collection bottle and in total raised £187.

Danny and I are now trying to raise money to buy Daniel a three-wheeled scooter to replace his wheelchair, so that he can have his freedom and his independence to go up into town or to go and see his friends and family without being dependant on his friends to take him.

We feel that he is confident enough to start doing things that a young man should be doing at 12, instead of feeling stranded when there is no-one around. He loves being with his friends. He can only walk short distances with his crutches before he gets tired, so we feel that the scooter would benefit Daniel very much.

If anyone would like to donate or give some support for this scooter for Daniel, the trustees are Mr. Peter Brown, of the Prince of Wales and Mrs. Leslie Fisher, of Tenby House . Alternatively, donations can be made at Nat West Bank.

Many thanks go out to all the people who have helped with the Daniel Trust Fund. At the end of this year we will be winding down the fund.

Further updates on Daniel's progress will follow. Once again a very special thank you to you all.
