DANCING their way to success in the recent Milford Mercury Junior Talent Contest were Sita Thomas, of Penally, and Sam Davies, of New Hedges.

The Greenhill School pupils teamed up to choreograph their own dance with a 'Bollywood' theme, and were delighted to win first place and a prize of £100 in the competition, which attracted over 20 entries.

Thirteen-year-old Sita has studied traditional and modern Indian dancing, although 14-year-old Sam is better known for his Irish dancing skills.

However, he was quick to learn thanks to Sita's expert tuition, and between them the pair devised a dance to 'Spirit in the Sky' which was full of energy and humour, and a real crowd-pleaser for the capacity audience at the Pill Social Centre, Milford Haven.

Sam and Sita were presented with their prize by the Mayor of Milford Haven, Clr. Anne Hughes.

Taking second place was 15-year-old Pembroke vocalist Alina Perry, while another singer, 11-year-old Stephanie Davies, of Merlins Bridge, was third.

All the profits from the evening will go to the Paul Sartori Foundation.
