AWARD-winning Bharathanatyam and Kathak dancer, Jayanthi M. Eshwarputhi, will visit Pembrokeshire for one month this September to present demonstrations and workshops in Pembrokeshire schools, as well as at the Windsor Arts Festival and Tenby Arts Festival.

On Saturday, September 14, she will offer a workshop at the Torch Theatre from 10.30 am until 1.30 pm. It will cost £2.50 to participate in a workshop and the morning is open to all ages between 13 to 75 years old.

Jayanthi is based in Karnataka, India. She is a dedicated Barathanatyam and Kathak artist of class and grace. She has many years of experience in teaching Indian Classical Dance and has worked extensively with children.

Jayanthi has worked with the Expression Dance Company of Australia and the Sutra Dance Company of Malaysia. Her first and unique production of 'Afri Kathak', performing Kathak to African drums - 'Djembe' was greatly acclaimed. She has performed in several dance festivals in India and has been to the USA and Denmark for dance performances and lectures.

Jayanthi's recent multi-cultural work during August to September 1999 with the Flamenco dancer Crine Campos was highly praised in Oslo-Drammen, Norway.
