South Pembrokeshire's first Welsh language newspaper 'Dan Y Landsker' (below the Landsker) was launched last week, appropriately on St. David's Day. The historic ceremony took place at the Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock, at 7.30 am, attended, even at that early hour, by local dignitaries and crews from national television and radio networks, allowing time for early distribution. This new and exciting venture has been established by 'Antur Teifi' Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire to promote community newspapers (papurau bro) in the area. The paper is particularly aimed at Welsh speakers and learners in South Pembrokeshire. 'Dan Y Landsker' is a high quality illustrated newspaper containing 16 pages of local news and varied articles of local interest. The paper is published bi-monthly and is on sale now at 50p in local shops, newsagents and other various outlets.
