Following a business meeting last Thursday, decisions were taken about the officers, subs and programme for the year 2006/7 as follows.
It has been agreed that Mr. Islwyn John will be president of the society; Mrs. Eluned Brown will be chairman; Mrs. Trevena Vincent will be vice- chairman; Mrs. Mollie Neate will be secretary; and Mrs. Jean Booth will be treasurer and membership secretary. Other members of the committee will be John Cochlin, Avryl Rees, Bertha Walters and Phyl Williams (TBC).
Subs for 2006/7 will be increased to £5 p.a. and these will be payable at the initial social meeting of the year at The Royal Lion Hotel, Tenby, on Thursday, October 19, from 10.30 am. Coffee and Welsh cakes will be served by staff from the hotel at a charge of £1.75, and there will be a guest speaker.
Programmes of the year's events, including the Christmas and St. David's Day lunch, will be provided on that occasion, but, as usual, notices will also appear in this column each month. Anyone who wishes to become a member of the society is welcome to go along to the first meeting where they will enjoy a warm fellowship.
