At the annual general meeting of the Cymrodorion Society held in April, the chairman, Mrs. Eluned Brown, welcomed everyone present and noted a number of apologies. During correspondence, Eluned read out a letter of thanks from the Rev. Nanette Lewis Head, for the Cymrodorion Ladies' singing contribution at St. Johns Cymanfa Ganu in March. She has requested that the group sing again in 2008. The treasurer, Jean, reported a healthy balance in funds and Eluned thanked all for their contributions in continuing to support the society, and for taking office. Officers elected for 2008 were confirmed as: president - Mr. Islwyn John; chairman - Mrs. Trevena Vincent; secretary - Mrs. Mollie Neate; treasurer - Mrs. Jean Booth; refreshment convener - Mrs. Avryl Rees. The usual May outing will be postponed this year. It will possibly take place in September. The first meeting of the new Cymrodorion programme in 2007-2008 will be on Thursday, October 18. This will be the annual coffee morning at the Royal Lion Hotel, if available. The speaker for the morning will be Mr. Peter Neate, who has just returned from a tour of Patagonia. He will talk about his visit. At the October meeting, subscriptions will be payable and a programme of forthcoming events will be circulated. Meanwhile, please keep a look out in this newspaper for any further news of a trip.
