Fifteen-yearold Dan Colman, of Pembrokeshire Velo Cycling Club, recently took part in the Welsh Championship 12-hour time trial. It took place in the Abergavenny area where Dan covered 221.44 miles and was part of the winning team.

Dan raised money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign by offering a prize to the person who estimated closest to the final mileage he would cover in the 12 hours. The prize was a Raleigh mountain bike, kindly donated by Raleigh, Bumper to Bumper of Kilgetty and Pentlepoir Garage. It was won by Mr. David Astins, of Haverfordwest.

Dan, who has retained his title of Welsh Juvenile Best All Rounder, set a club juvenile record with his 12-hour ride.

A month later, he set a club juvenile record at 100 miles with a time of four hours, 16 minutes and 25 seconds, and went on to break existing club records at 10, 25 and 50 miles with times of 22:50, 57:30 and 2:04:30, respectively.
