They did it! During their summer holidays, three brothers from Pembrokeshire cycled 1,085 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money for Ty Hafan, the children's hospice in Wales.

The Worley brothers from Cresselly, Dan, 19, Olly, 16, and Joe, 15, along with their dad, local carpenter Mark, and close friend, Phil Reynolds, completed the challenging ride in 16 days.

Joining them for the trip as support crew were Mark's wife Anna, director of local store T. P. Hughes, and Phil's wife Kerry, whose job it was to keep the crew fed and watered and set up camp each night.

Said Anna this week:" It was hard work and I am so proud of the boys for this tremendous achievement. To my knowledge, the boys are the only three brothers ever to complete the challenge, which also makes them record breakers!

"The weather was very wet for most of the ride and they had a few accidents along the route, including a broken finger, but their spirits remained high throughout - they were absolutely fantastic!

"We tried to keep to minor roads wherever possible to make the most of the British countryside, covering anything from 60 to 110 miles a day, and saw some stunning scenery along the way - the highlight being the north of Scotland, which was amazing."

The boys would like to thank everyone who sponsored them and also Sign Speed in Cresselly for the stickers for the van and Jane Kidney at Foxcombe cat hotel for looking after the family cat!

The total raised for Ty Hafan was £1,676 - absolutely brilliant - well done!
