A team of 25 cyclists led by Anthony Lloyd, Dean Miles and a cycling Paralympic gold medallist will be cycling from Pontypridd to Clunderwen to raise funds for a young boy who suffers debilitating illnesses.

Anthony and Dean (who have residential caravans at Trefach Caravan Park, Clunderwen) and their co-riders will be setting off on Saturday, September 2, from Pontypridd, the home town of six-year-old Cory Wood, to raise money for the youngster who is being treated for cerebral palsy, choreoathetoid, dystonia, nystagmus and reflux problems.

The aim is to help Cory’s parents purchase specialist equipment needed to help Cory lead a fuller better life.

Cory’s dad Carl Wood will form part of the team, along with Simon Richardson MBE who represented Team GB at the Beijing Olympics and won two gold medals and a silver medal.

After cycling the 110 miles distance, the event culminates at Trefach Caravan Park with a charity fundraising function in the evening, featuring a raffle auction to further boost the fund, and any prize donations would be greatly appreciated.

Entertainment for the evening will be provided by The Leighton Jones Band (Leighton appeared on BBC’s The Voice TV show last year).

£5,600 has already been collected through a just giving page set up for Cory.
