CUPUACU are a group of musicians and dancers under the guidance of Tiao Carvelho, one of the leading exponents of Brazilian popular music and culture. They are being brought to Narberth's Queen's Hall by Patua Dance, of Cardiff, on Sunday.

Tiao is the founder and director of Grupo Cupuacu and has worked with many of the great names of Brazilian dance, theatre and music and has a deep knowledge of the popular culture.

If you have an interest in Brazilian music and dance, then this opportunity should not be missed. There is a workshop in the afternoon which aims to give participants the opportunity to have contact with the playful traditions of chants, rituals and stories. The concert will present sambas, carimbos and cocos, reggaes and baioes, and the traditional chants of Bumga-boi and Tambor di Crioula.

The workshop is from 2-4.30 pm (£5, £4 conc.) and the evening's performance begins at 7.30 pm (£6, £5 conc).

This happens hot on the heels of SPAN's 'Feet on the Street' tomorrow (Saturday). World dance comes to Pembrokeshire this weekend!
