In the preliminary round, Lamphey had an eight wickets win at home to Hundleton after holding the visitors to 82 for 8. Jonathan Williams top scored for Hundleton with 26, and for Lamphey, Jason Oatley took 3 for 21, Stephen Vale 2 for 11 and Hywel Gibbs 2 for 28. Lamphey scored 83 for 2 in reply, with Nic Johnson 28 not out, Hywel Gibbs 26 not out supported by Jason Oatley with 18. In the first round of the competition, Manorbier defeated both Kilgetty and the advancing sea mist. Kilgetty scored 95 for 9, largely due to a fine innings of 40 by Grant James with six fours. Neil Powling took four for 14 and Mike May 3 for 15. Manorbier were assisted in their reply by some loose bowling by the visitors who conceded 33 extras. Keith May scored 20 for Manorbier and Neil Powling 19. Skipper Richard Gwyther was the leading Kilgetty bowler with 3 for 17. Pembroke Dock won by four wickets at home to Camrose and Spittal who scored 124 for 9. Ian Lewis top scored for the visitors with 28 and for the Dock, Mohammad Khan took 3 for 25 and Jason Coles 2 for 20. Mohammad Khan who is having an excellent season led the run chase with 48 backed up by John Davies with 21 and John Camani with 19 not out. Darren Osborne took 4 for 32 for the visitors. Neyland won by 12 runs at home to Herbrandston who were dismissed for 105 chasing a Neyland total of 117 for 7. Greg Miller scored 37 for Neyland and Lee Summons 28. For the visitors, Dean John took 4 for 32 and Kristan Bennett 2 for 18. Although Leigh Marchant scored 32 and Jonathan Bennett 17, excellent bowling by spinner Gary Lloyd with 3 for 26, Henry Durant with 2 for 26 and Patrick Hannon with 2 for 31 gave Neyland a victory. Llechryd had a six wickets win over Division Two rivals Fishguard who scored 100 for 9, with David Haynes being the principal contributor with 28. Kevin Evans took 3 for 35 for the visitors, backed up by Rhys Beard with 2 for 21 and Alex Harding with 2 for 22. Opener Kevin Evans led the run chase with 33 supported by Graham Keen with 17 not out. St. Ishmaels won by nine wickets at Johnston after bowling out the home team for 76. John Summons top scored with 24 as Andrew Salter took 4 for 15, Andrew Williams 3 for 15 and Andrew Palmer 2 for 27. In reply, Tish knocked-off the runs in the ninth over in advancing light drizzle with Jonathan Pawlett scoring 31 not out, skipper Peter Bradshaw 28 not out and Andrew Salter 18. At Lamphey, the visitors Lawrenny declared after 20 overs with a total of 207 for 1. Spectators were left wondering when was the last time, if ever, any team had declared in this competition. Openers Andrew Cole and Christian Phillips put on a 179 for the first wicket before Phillips was bowled by Grant Cole for an aggressive innings of 91 which included five sixes and eight fours. Cole hit 11 fours in his innings of 72 not out and Ceri Jones was 25 not out. Lamphey were bowled out for 84 with opener Paul White scoring 30 supported by Haydn Cole with 18 and Nic Johnson with 14. Skipper Steve Lewis took 3 for 4, spinner Ian Jenkins 3 for 20 and Simon Webb 2 for 17. The match at Narberth was abandoned after two overs with the visitors Burton on a total of 8 for 1. Glamorgan to play at Cresselly in benefit match

Glamorgan cricketers will play at Cresselly again this year in a benefit match for skipper David Hemp. The stylish left-handed batsmen has arranged to bring the Glamorgan team to the Pembrokeshire village on Sunday, July 27, and wickets will be pitched at 12 noon. The game will be between David Hemp's Glamorgan XI and a Pembrokeshire Select XI which will be selected by Cresselly chairman Glyn Cole and club captain Lyn Richards. It is planned that the select side will contain a representative from each side in the First Division of the Pembrokeshire league. The game will be on the Twenty20 format with two innings per side. Graham Jewson Harrison-Allen Bowl quarter-final draw

The draw has been made for the quarter-finals of the Graham Jewson Harrison-Allen Bowl and has thrown up some intriguing fixtures On Tuesday, July 1, Lawrenny will be home to Llechryd and Narberth or Burton will be home to Neyland. The following evening, Wednesday, July 2, three of the favourites will be in action as St. Ishmaels will be home to Camrose and Spittal or Hundleton and Cresselly or Carew will be home to Crymych or Saundersfoot.
