At Lamphey, the visitors Neyland reached a total of 126 for seven. Greg Miller scored 29 supported by Lee Summons with 21 not out. Lamphey skipper Hywel Gibbs took 2 for 25. Lamphey openers Paul White and Jason Oatley had little trouble dealing with the Neyland opening bowlers and added 43 for the first wicket before Paul White was bowled by Lee Summons for 15. When spinner Phil Davies came into the attack he mesmerised the Lamphey batsmen. Jason Oatley was caught by Andrew Miller off his bowling for 22 and Lamphey lost 10 wickets whilst adding just 10 runs to be bowled out for a meagre total 53. Phil Davies conceded nine runs from his first over and only conceded one more run as he took seven out of 10 whilst Summons followed up his batting to take 2 for 20. Kilgetty reached a total of 102 for 7 at home to Hook despite being without five regular first team players. Former skipper Graham Jenkins top scored with 28, before falling to a brilliant one handed boundary catch by Ross Martin off the bowling of Jamie Phelps. Second team skipper Richard Gwyther was the only other batsman in the runs with 26. He was bowled by Phelps who bowled three other batsmen to finish with figures of 5 for 32. Richard Prout opened the Kilgetty bowling and knocked over the first three Hook batsmen to finish with figures of 3 for 19. Hook recovered from being 36 for 3 after nine overs to win by seven wickets with a total of 106 for 3. Mick Haltam and Keith James led the recovery with a fourth wicket partnership of exactly 70. Haltam finished with 45 not out and James with 31 not out. Burton were bowled out for 58 away to St. Ishmaels with Jonathan Pawlett taking 4 for 22, spinner Daniel Flynn took three for seven and all-rounder Andrew Williams 2 for 10. Burton skipper Mike Venables was the only batsman in double figures with 17. Tish openers Jonathan Pawlett and Andrew Salter put on 38 for the first wicket before Salter was dismissed for 12. Pawlett went on to score an aggressive 50 not out from just 27 balls to take Tish to a nine wickets win on 64 for 1. Pawlett smashed three sixes and hit seven fours. Carew built a huge total of 188 for 5 at home to Johnston. Opener Wayne Cannon scored 74 with eight fours and two sixes before being caught by Lee Walters off the bowling of Ross Dewstowe. Brian Hall helped Cannon to add 74 for the fourth wicket and Hall finished with 42 not out. For the visitors, Steve Jenkins took 2 for 23 and Ross Dewstowe 2 for 53. Hook found the five pronged Carew bowling attack something of a handful. However, Lee Walters scored 27 before being caught by Rhys Davies off the bowling of Phil Jones and early order batsman Richard Davies batted well for his innings of 19, before he was caught brilliantly by Tim Hicks, off the bowling of Rhys Davies. All-rounder Tim Hicks took 4 for 23 and bowled a lively spell from the gardens end. Phil Jones bowled occasionally when he played for Kilgetty, but rarely has a chance to bowl in the Carew team. He showed his colleagues what he could do by taking 2 for 2 in one solitary over. To help Crew win by 107 runs Haverfordwest openers Danny Potter and Richard James notched up 102 in their opening partnership at home to Stackpole. It was broken when Potter was dismissed for 66 having given nine fours and Richard James was 48 not out at the end. The Haverfordwest team also had the benefit of 20 extras in a total of 148 for 1. Opener James Roberts defied the Haverfordwest bowling attack with a fighting innings of 45 with two sixes and five fours from just 47 balls. No other batsman scored double figures as Nick Dyer took 3 for 18. The Haverfordwest bowlers gave a little away and the visitors could only score 71 for 6 in their reply. Hundleton were bowled out for 48 at Lawrenny and spinner Ian Jenkins took 4 for 9, Ceri Jones 3 for 5 and Simon Cole 3 for 21. Scott Richards top scored for the visitors with 13. Lawrenny won comfortably by eight wickets after reaching 50 for 2 in nine overs. Andrew Cole scored 16 and James Buckle was 13 not out. Martyn Tweedie took 2 for 35 for Hundleton. The quarter-finals will be played during the first week of July and the draw has thrown up some intriguing fixtures. Neyland will be home to dark horses St. Ishmaels and the favourites Cresselly will be home to Hook on Tuesday, July 3. On Wednesday, July 4, Lawrenny will be home to Narberth and Carew will be home to Haverfordwest in two crunch games, which could go either way.

Dyrham Service Station Alec Colley Cup - Round One

Whitland reached a total of 150 for 7 at Stackpole. Duane Reynolds had a hard hitting innings of 56 from 40 deliveries including eight fours and there was useful support from both Simon Davies and Colin John with 15 each and Edward John with 12. For Stackpole, Richard McKay took 2 for 26, John Davies 2 for 32 and Katherine Adams 2 for 34. Welsh rugby international forward Jonathon Thomas has some time off from his duties with the Ospreys and Wales at the present. He put that leisure time to good use for Stackpole with an aggressive innings of 32 from 31 balls, but he lacked the necessary support as no other Stackpole player got into double figures with the result that Stackpole were dismissed for 85. Duane Reynolds was again the Whitland star as he took 44 for 13 and there was a wicket apiece for Daniel Newton, Stuart Harris, Simon Davies and Shaun Lynch. In a close mistake riddled game at Fishguard, the visitors Hundleton bowled out Fishguard for 111 on the last ball in reply to a Hundleton total of 114 for 7. Craig Williams top scored for the visitors with 43 supported by Mark Williams with 20 and Liam Williams with 13. Craig Delaney was the pick of the Fishguard bowlers with a return of 2 for 15. Russell Jones scored 23 for Fishguard backed up by Owen Duggan with 17 and Gary Strawbridge with 13. However, young Liam Williams took 3 for 27 and slow left armer David Pratt had 3 for 28 so that Hundleton are through to the next round.
