The Pembrokeshire branch of Cruse Bereavement Care, the UK's leading charity on bereavement, is in need of a volunteer to take over the role of treasurer.

Cruse provides support at no cost to anyone who has suffered a bereavement, and offers information, advice, education and training services.

The 10-strong branch management team, all volunteers, urgently needs a new treasurer; someone with a knowledge of book-keeping, willing to spend a few hours each month in a voluntary capacity but with expenses payable, working mainly from home and able to attend management committee meetings in Haverfordwest bi-monthly.

In Pembrokeshire, Cruse presently has 26 volunteers actively involved in one-to-one support and counselling, with about 85 individuals newly referred this year in addition to providing ongoing support to clients from previous years.

Branch chair Ken Norman said: "The need for bereavement support is various, but is always there, and the branch management committee and support workers - all volunteers - do a fantastic job for the people of Pembrokeshire.

"We are looking to recruit a new volunteer to act as treasurer; someone with a good head for figures, and who would like to lend their support to a very worthy cause for local people."

If you, or someone you know would like to find out more about volunteering for this role, you can contact Cruse on 01437 891006, or write to The chair, Cruse Bereavement Care, PO Box 34, Haverfordwest, SA61 1YS.
