A Tenby pub has been granted an extension to its permitted hours for selling alcohol, despite the concerns of neighbouring residents.

Pembrokeshire County Council's licensing sub committee discussed the application for a variation of the premises licence at the Crown Inn, Lower Frog Street, at a meeting on Tuesday.

Although a number of letters were received by the committee from residents objecting to the application, members gave their approval for the sale of alcohol on Fridays and Saturdays until 1 am at the premises and granted the applicants opening hours until 1.30 am on the same nights.

The committee also said it would permit live music at the premises from 7 pm to 12 am on any night of the week, but that it would be limited to a maximum of two nights only in any week.

The applicants have been encouraged by the licensing sub-committee to consider installing sound insulation at the pub for noise breakouts and also to keep local residents advised on forthcoming live music events, giving them as much notice as possible.
