Pupils from Saundersfoot CP School recently took part in the Pembrokeshire Primary Schools Cross Country Championships at Oakwood.

The children trained hard for the event and their hard work certainly paid off, as the Saundersfoot team gained second place overall, out of 42 schools who took part in the event.

The Year 3 girls team (Ellie Harris, Emily Waters, Ellie Wainwright and Jodie Jenkins) did exceptionally well, gaining first place overall. Year 4 boys and girls teams were both placed third and all the other teams did well, most gaining places in the top 15.

Individual medals were awarded to children who gained a place in the top 10. Medal winners were as follows: Ellie Harris (Yr.3) 5th; Sam Jaakola (Yr.4) 6th; Harry Palin (Yr.4) 10th; Josh Palin (Yr.6) 4th.
