The crime rate in one of south Pembrokeshire's popular resorts has fallen.

Since April 1, recorded crime in Saundersfoot has fallen by a full 30 per cent, while crimes of violence have reduced by 50 per cent from 57 offences last year to 28 this year.

Speaking at a meeting of the village's community council, Inspector Les Clark said that burglary offences had reduced by almost 60 per cent from 22 offences last year to nine this year.

Dwelling burglaries had reduced to just three offences from 11 this time last year, while car crime had reduced over the same period by 53 per cent. Said Inspector Clark: "Overall crime in Saundersfoot has actually reduced year on year by a full 30 per cent."
