Tenby's Neighbourhood Policing Team visited the Salvation Army ladies evening on Monday giving advice on bogus callers and rogue traders.

PCSO Mandy Goodland stated that they were concerned that the general public were being subjected to cold callers who deliberately overcharge for unsatisfactory services, which includes charging for unnecessary work, damaging property deliberately in order to obtain money, leaving work unfinished which causes distress.

These offenders can travel long distances to commit crime and some of them will employ distraction techniques to target the vulnerable.

Advice was given to raise public awareness of doorstep crime and provide reassurance.
