AGM of cricket coaches
The annual general meeting of the Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches will be held at Cresselly Cricket Club on Tuesday, December 9, commencing at 7.30 pm.
Chairman Phillip Thomas, cricket development officer Richard Harris and long-serving secretary Ray Kane have all decided to stand down, so top quality replacements will be required to continue the development of junior cricket in Pembrokeshire.
Mark Frost, the director of cricket at the Cricket Board of Wales, and Jeremy Cartwright, the cricket development officer for South West Wales, will both be in attendance at the meeting.
Cricket groundsmen form new association
Following a recent meeting at Haverfordwest Cricket Club of cricket club representatives in Pembrokeshire, it was the unanimous decision to form an association for cricket groundsmen which will be known as the Pembrokeshire Groundsmanship Association.
The following officers were appointed: chairman - Brian James (Llangwm); secretary - John Green (Lamphey); treasurer - Jim Phillips (Burton) and project manager - Brian James (Llangwm).
At the inaugural meeting, it was decided to accept the generous offer of ground maintenance equipment from the Welsh Cricket Association.
Brian James, of Llangwm, agreed that the Llangwm club would be prepared to store the equipment for the next 12 months and that during that period he would both deliver and collect the equipment from the hiring clubs.
A further meeting of all cricket clubs will be held on Wednesday, December 10, at Haverfordwest Cricket Club to finalise rules concerning the hire, distribution, fees and priority for utilising the grounds maintenance equipment.
