The April meeting was held in the Carew Methodist Youth Centre and was attended by 28 members. The chairman opened the meeting with the exhortation and members remained standing in memory of Legion member, Mr. Tony Arthur, of Cresselly.

Members thanked the organisers of the March Annual Dinner held at Coppet Hall, which had been such a success.

The meeting expressed thanks to Willie Richards for his hard work on the Carew Cheriton War Graves hedges.

A collection of £25 was made for Mr. Jack Ellis, the retiring chairman of Crossfield House Retirement Home.

The chairman welcomed two new members, Mr. Reg Palmer and Mr. Michael Hayes.

The chairman then introduced the speaker for the evening, Mr. Alan East, who gave a fascinating account of his last flight as a captain for Britannia Airlines, giving an insight into all the problems of flight management, both serious and amusing.

After the vote of thanks by Constance George and thanks to the ladies for tea, the chairman closed the meeting.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, May 17, at 7.30 pm, and is to be held in Sageston School at the kind invitation of the headmistress, Mrs. Morris.
