In the Dyfed zone final of the Npower Village Cup, Cresselly won a high scoring game at home to arch rivals and last season's semi-finalists Carew to book a spot in the last 32 of the competition.

Cresselly scored 276 all out to continue their form of the previous Saturday's league encounter. Skipper Simon Cole had a dashing innings of 81, supported by Phil Williams with 62 and useful contributions of 35 from Adam Chandler and 25 from Ryan Lewis.

For Carew, skipper Rob Scourfield took 3 for 33 and Ceri Brace 3 for 72.

In reply, Carew were bowled out for 219. Tim Hicks had a thrilling innings of 97, with the major back-up coming from Phil Jones with 44.

Simon Cole completed a fine all-round display by taking 4 for 12 after the nagging Lyn Richards had worked away to take 3 for 45 as the pair paved the way for Cresselly's victory by a margin of 74 runs.

Cresselly will play Devon champions Feniton or East Prawle with home advantage in the next round on Sunday, June 28.
