At the January meeting, members of Cresselly and District Royal British Legion welcomed the Rev. Thelma Barber, vicar of St. Mary's, Carew Cheriton, as the new branch chaplain.

Rev. Barber then gave an entertaining talk on her career and calling to the church.

The branch presented her with a Royal British Legion chaplain's stole for future Remembrance Services etc.

The chairman reported that the final figure for last year's Poppy Appeal was £2,637 and thanked the collectors for their excellent results.

The branch also wishes to thank all the local schools, chuches and chapels, shops and public houses that took part.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, February 17, in Carew Wesley Youth Centre, at 7.30 pm, when the speaker will be Deric Brock.

This year's annual dinner is on Wednesday, March 17, at the Wiseman's Bridge Inn.
