Folly Farm are going all out for a Hallowe'en bonanza this year and are making the most of the artistic skills of their most creative employees. The farm park will be dressed up to offer guests an assortment of eerie experiences, thanks to the amazing creations of staff members! The centrepiece of Folly Farm's fiendish festivities is 'Sammy Spider's Hallowe'en House', created by entertainment supervisor Rebecca Rees and her imaginative team. Illuminated with UV lights and chilled by ghoulish music, the house offers a taste of the macabre with giant spiders and creepy eyes that stare out of the dark! Says Rebecca: "I'm really pleased with how the Hallowe'en House has turned out. I was aiming for something scary, but fun, and I think we have definitely managed to achieve the emphasis on fun. "It's very child orientated, and we've also organised lots of spooky activities to entertain the kids." Rebecca's Hallowe'en handiwork makes up a small part of her work at Folly Farm, where she creates park themes and decorations year-round. Rebecca started work at the farm attraction as a holiday job during university, but after gaining her degree in theatre design at Birmingham, she found her ideal job was at home here in Pembrokeshire. She states: " I'm so pleased to have found a job in Pembrokeshire that's so ideal for me, and uses the skills I've learnt. "It's a great place to live and unfortunately so many young people leave because they can't find the work they want, so I consider myself very lucky." According to human resources manager, Paul Harries: "Folly Farm are very good at identifying people with skills within the organisation and utilising those skills. "It's great that staff can be offered the chance to make use of their talent and enthusiasm. Folly Farm's efforts have also been recognised with a 2002 Investors in People award." Other Hallowe'en treats at Folly Farm include a chilling twist on their traditional 'Pet handling' sessions, with 'creepy crawly pet handling', pumpkin hunts with prizes, a spooky picture trail, pumpkin lanterns around the park, face painting and spectacular shows from Chunky Russell and Jugglestruck.
