On Saturday, July 9, a very successful Cream Teas event was held at Ox Park, Llawhaden, when a substantial amount of money was raised for Breast Cancer Wales. The proceeds would be divided between the Withybush Hospital Cancer Ward, and the Llanelli Prince Philip Cancer Ward. It was a beautiful sunny day and 200 people came through the gate, and the stalls, which were heavily laden, were soon empty. Raffle prizes were won by the following: 200 litres heating oil - Anthony Palmer, Haverfordwest; bottle of wine - David Day, Neyland; crystal ware - David Llewellyn, Narberth; £10 meat voucher - Ann Sykes, Narberth; bottle of wine - Rhianon Mckay, Martletwy; basket of fruit - Evelyn Morgan, Cold Blow; bottle of wine - Joyce James, Gelliolau; floral arrangement - Mary Williams, Broadmoor; meat voucher - Christfor Pile, Lawhaden; bottle of wine - Esta Bryant, Llawhaden; toiletries - Sheila Belton, Haverfordwest; bottle of wine - Pearl Edwards, Bethesda; name the teddy (Dafydd) - Mrs. Nutt, Llawhaden; money in jar - Peggy Jenkins, Carew. Thanks go to all the sponsors and Barclays Bank and Mrs. Val Parish for the £ for £ support. And to all who helped on the day and before the event.
