The Pembrokeshire Craftmakers are a group of craftsmen and women who work independently in their own workshops making their own craft items and regularly come together to hold craft exhibitions where the fruits of their labours can be seen and purchased.

The next exhibition is to be in the Gallery at Picton Castle, an amazing venue where the public can explore the gardens and be guided around the castle itself - there is also a gift shop on site and tea rooms serving delicious meals.

This year the exhibitors include: Juanita Humphries, showing her unusual paper maché products; Ken Bedford, who will be displaying his wood turned and pyrographed lamps; Carol Brinton Thomas, now making pottery with village scenes in relief around the various coloured glazed vases and bowls; Joanna Heneker, who works in watercolour, painting intricate pictures of flowers and woodland creatures; Les Ford, a wood turner with a difference; and Sylvia McCracken, who makes tiny stitched collages.

Handcrafted ironwork for the house and garden is made by Julian, Marcus and Jenny Rich; Duncan Browning makes hand-coiled indoor water features with mixed coloured clays; hand-turned wooden items, both small and unusual, and bigger bowls are by Jo and Leigh Rihan; Phillipa Lewis has originally designed decorative and functional pottery using blue, green and white glazes; and Mark Walford makes pottery decorated with fascinating crystal glazes.

All in all, the exhibition promises to be really varied and interesting and will take place at the Gallery, Picton Castle, which is just outside Haverfordwest, off the A40. It is open 10.30 am until 5 pm, and runs until Sunday, July 28 (the castle gallery and grounds are closed on Mondays.)

It is hoped that many people will find the exhibition and see some of the craftsmen and women demonstrating their craft.
