Officers of the Pembrokeshire licensing team from the police and Pembrokeshire County Council conducted visits to licensed premises within the county last weekend.

"Several breaches of licensing law were found and these infringements will be dealt with by means of enforcement action taken against the respective licensees," said a spokesman.

"The licensing team intend to carry out similar random visits to licence premises throughout the summer months in an effort to ensure that pubs, clubs and other licensed premises in the county are complying with the licensing laws, fire regulations and health and safety regulations.

"Any breaches of the laws on overcrowding, fire regulations and alcohol consumption will be dealt with firmly.

"The emphasis from the council and police is to ensure that both local people and visitors alike are able to enjoy themselves at the numerous venues available in Pembrokeshire, in particular during the forthcoming holiday season, with the assurance that their safety, well-being and enjoyment is a priority.
