The rain was pouring down at times last Friday so I don't think anyone expected to be able to go down to Carew Mill crabbing (writes Joe Hicks).

However, as usual, the sun shone on the club and it was dry enough for the children to be able to go.

There was much excitement as they all set off on one of their favourite activities.

As usual, everyone had a great time and as usual there were a couple of mishaps.

Katie and Amber came back with mud right up to their elbows and a nice brown splodge of mud on the seat of their trousers!

Fortunately, we did not lose Andy, despite him wading out up to his chest in the pond (not recommended!).

Altogether, there were 39 crabs caught, the largest one being three-and-half-inches across.

Everyone went back to the club where there were cakes and drinks served.

Another fun filled evening with a bit of line, some bacon and wellies!
