Michael Bell and the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra return to Folly Farm with an ‘Evening of Favourite Overtures’. This programme represents the people’s choice as the programme of 10 overtures was selected by the CPO’s audience - choosing their favourites from a list published on the CPO website.
The programme includes Tchaikovsky’s much-loved 1812 Overture and other well-known favourites, including Rossini’s William Tell Overture and Mozart’s overture to the Magic Flute. It also includes some less well-known overtures such as Shostakovich’s Festival Overture and Sibelius’s Karelia Overture.
The programme is a musical feast with something for everyone.
The full programme can be found on the Pembroke Rotary Club website: www.pembrokerotary.org.uk which also allows tickets to be purchased online.
The concert has once again been generously sponsored by Valero, and Folly Farm has donated the venue. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Pembrokeshire Sibling Group and to Rotary charities.
Audiences have loyally supported the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra for more than 15 years and this has greatly helped the Rotary Club’s work in supportingthe local community.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 16, in the Follies Theatre, Folly Farm, commencing at 7 pm. Tickets are available from: the Folly Farm box office, Adept Dry Cleaners in Pembroke Dock, McLaren’s Hairdressers in Pembroke, and online via the Pembroke Rotary Club website: www.pembrokerotary.org.uk Ends
