Saundersfoot Sports AFC are delighted to have joined in partnership with the Sports Council for Wales in order to achieve the coveted Club Cymru Award, under the helpful guidance of Gerry Rigby, FAW football development officer for Pembrokeshire.
The year will see Saundersfoot Sports achieve ambitious developments within its structure and organisation, particularly in terms of its junior squads, in both girls and boys sections.
The award will help provide well equipped teams with full FAW qualified coaches working within all sections in order to encourage and develop football skills and to increase participation in all abilities. A child protection policy will be asserted and emergency aid qualifications will be obtained.
At present the club runs two senior male teams, a ladies team, U16, U13 U11 boys together with U14 and U12 girls teams.
The award will go hand in hand with the completion of the improvements to the Saundersfoot Sports and Social Club, which has recently seen the addition of an extra storey housing a function room and boasting balconies overlooking the King George V Playing Fields.
