A Pembroke Dock man who used threatening behaviour has been fined in court.
Thirty-five-year-old David Wyn Scourfield, of Cross Park, Pennar, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to plead guilty to a charge of using abusive behaviour towards Ian Smith in Pembroke Dock, on January 14.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that Mr. Smith and his partner attended an address in Pennar at around 6.45 pm, to see her daughter at a friend’s house, when the incident occurred.
“Mr. Scourfield verbally abused the complainant, and uttered the profanities he used in front of a 10-year-old child,” she explained.
“When interviewed by the police over the incident, Mr. Scourfield made a full and frank admission and said that he had consumed six to eight cans of Carling, but didn’t really know why he said the things he said,” added Ms Morgan.
Defence solicitor Matthew Greenish told the court that Mr. Smith was in a relationship with Mr. Scourfield’s ex, and there had been a build up of matters leading up to this unfortunate and unpleasant incident.
“Since the incident, my client has completed a drink rehabilitation order,” he explained.
Magistrates fined Mr. Scourfield £80 for the offence and ordered him to pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
