A PEMBROKE Dock driver has been given a 12-month ban and a £500 fine for drink-driving between Angle and the Speculation Inn, Hundleton.

Simon Bowley, of Gwyther Street, appearing before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 16, pleaded guilty to driving a VW Touareg on the B4320 on May 25 when over the limit for alcohol. He also confessed to driving without due care and attention, leading to a no-points endorsement on his driving record.

The 62-year-old was fined £507 and disqualified from driving for 12 months; this period to be reduced by 12 weeks provided a course is completed by January 15, 2027.

Costs to Crown Prosecution Service amounted to £85, and a surcharge of £203 was added.
