A 15-YEAR-OLD from Milford Haven has been referred to Pembrokeshire’s Youth Offender Panel for six months for theft and assaulting a police officer.

The teenager, who resides in Steynton, appearing at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on April 2, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable by beating on March 1, and to stealing alcohol worth £70 from Tesco, plus a £1.50 drink from Poundland Stores, on March 17.

Taking into account the guilty pleas, the defendant was handed a six-month Youth Offender Referral Order, the parent or guardian to attend meetings.

The youth was also ordered to pay compensation of £50 for the assault, and £20 for the alcohol theft, in addition to costs of £85. No surcharge was imposed
