Local taxi driver, Kevin Heywood, of Flat 1, Oxford House Flats, Lower Frog Street, Tenby, pleaded guilty to driving a hackney cab for hire, without a hackney cab licence or insurance when he appeared before nagistrates sitting in the town.

Although the vehicle was a registered hackney cab with Pembrokeshire County Council, Heywood was not a registered driver because unbeknown to him his two-year licence had expired, the court heard.

Magistrates endorsed Heywood's licence with six penalty points, which when added to his existing nine points, resulted in a six-month driving ban.

He was also fined £150 for driving without a licence, £150 for driving without insurance and ordered to pay £50 costs by the court sitting last Thursday.
