A LOCAL couple who recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary have made a sizable donation to charity.

Jack and Peggy Lewis, of Amroth, held an open house for their celebrations.

The many friends and family who attended the event donated monies to Ty Hafan, a children's charity, close to the couple's hearts.

Jack and Peggy were delighted to hand over a cheque to the value of £660 to Philip Thomas, community fund-raiser for Ty Hafan.

The couple wish to express their thanks to family and friends who attended and gave so generously to the charity, along with Elaine, Wendy, Pat, and Peter, who prepared and served the food on the day.
