John and Edwina Lewis, of 15 James Park, Kilgetty, celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on April 5.

Instead of presents, they asked family and friends for donations to Intensive Care, Withybush Hospital, where John had spent four days following an operation in May 2009; and Ward 12, where Edwina had spent 10 days in December last year.

They felt that if it wasn't for the care they received whilst in hospital, neither of them would be in such good health to celebrate and enjoy such a special anniversary with their family and friends.

They are very grateful to all who donated to the cause. They raised £500 and were able to present £250 to each department.
