Sir,

If you take away all the written arguments for and against the Bluestone project, there is only one reason why this project must be stopped.

The reasons stated by Ruth Chambers, head of policy for the Council of National Parks, should not be ignored. If this project goes unchallenged, it will set such a precedent that will be irreversible.

Already the vultures are flocking to put in planning applications without waiting for the outcome of any legal challenge, should such a challenge be mounted.

People visit Pembrokeshire for its scenic beauty and tranquillity. That is under threat if Bluestone goes ahead - maybe not today, but in the future, say 10 to 15 years down the road, as more development goes on in the parks, unstopped thanks to Bluestone.

Once the precedent it set, we will lose the beauty of the countryside that makes this county.

So, to Ruth Chambers and the Council of National Parks, I say please mount your legal challenge and good luck.

I. L. Williams,

Allans Court,

Cold Blow,

Narberth.
