The County Wedding Fair, held recently at Brithdir Hall, County Showground, Withybush, Haverfordwest, was a lively and busy event.
With over 100 stands and more than 190 people signing in, it proved the busiest.
It again showed how you needn't leave the area to find quality services for your wedding day - or big celebration party. There was much on offer, from travel, health and beauty, gowns and suits, to cakes, cars, photographers and a lucky sweep!
Bonkers Fashions, of Haverfordwest, provided the sponsorship for the free prize draw to be spent with any exhibitor.
Beth Jones was the lucky recipient and she will be spending her £250 with White Bride, of Narberth.
Last September's winner chose to spend her prize money, from Celebrations Bridal Wear, Milford Haven, in Pembroke with Apropos Hair and Beauty.
The Paul Sartori Foundation ran a café selling coffee, tea and cakes, providing a much-needed break for refreshments for many who spent several hours at the event. And a big thank you to CSE for their support with this.
As usual, the exhibitors showed their support for the Paul Sartori Foundation by offering prizes (and buying tickets!) for a raffle.
What some of the exhibitors said
about the fair
Ross Grieve, of Ross Grieve Photography
Yet again the Pembrokeshire Wedding Fair proved to popular for us, with two brides booking on the day, and a load of interest. It's nice to have unique photographs to show. A big thanks to the team who put the show together. It's always nice to see Pembrokeshire companies working together.
Sally White, of White Bride, Narberth
The wedding fair was a great sucsess for us. It was really busy with a great atmosphere. We had lots of interest from new brides who didn't know we were in Narberth and lots of appointments made!
Shelley Kaumaitotoya, florist and owner of Wedding Flowers by Shelley, of Sandyhill Nurseries, Saundersfoot
It was probably one of the best wedding fairs I've done. It was really busy and I soon ran out of brochures. I have had really positive feedback, with three brides booking me straightaway, which is usually unheard of as people usually go away and think about things. I am lucky as I can keep my prices low with minimum overheads and have done very well with people recommending me.
Anna Hart, Mobile Massage Therapist
I thought it was very well organised and a great success. I am looking forward to taking part in the next one.
Hairdresser Rachel Lincoln, of Seren Style
Another fanastic wedding fair - lots of brides for this year and next. One small piece of advice, if you really want someone, then booked them as soon as you have decided to avoid disappointment. A lot of people we had to pass on as we were already booked.
Amrie Dassen, of Amrie Holistic and Beauty Therapy
Yet again another successful wedding fair with many potential brides and grooms walking in with their beauty requirements for their special day. Looking forward to September already.
Tracy, of Flotations Balloons
As an exibitor, the wedding fayre was a great success. It's a chance for us to show the products and services we can provide, here in Pembrokeshire, without brides having to travel miles andmiles.
Steve Briers DJ
The fair was well organised, as always, and we had a good throughput of prospective brides, grooms and their families. It was lovely to meet brides and grooms face-to-face, as I usually speak to them on the 'phone without actually meeting them until the big day, and it's nice to have that contact before the event. I felt that it was very successful, and it's just good to be a part of the event and to meet prospective clients in person.
Lynne Gammage,
The Make-Up Lady
It was good to see so many future brides visiting us this year.
The displays were excellent, with a varied and diverse assortment of exhibitors, providing everything you could wish for the wedding day.
This March the prizes were donated by: Alison at the Flower Garden; Cameo Lingerie; Elements of Floristry; Galloping Cat; J. J. McHugh; Owen Howells; Rose Crystal tips; Ross Grieve; Sitting Pretty; The Incredible How; The Tenby Observer; Top Class Cars.
Between the raffle, sales to the public of a pig roast, a donation for volunteers serving tea, sales of tea and cake, plus donations from exhibitors and the public, £659 was raised for the Paul Sartori Foundation at the wedding fair.
Thank you to the exhibitors, visitors, Ken Davies's pig roast and Paul Sartori Foundation volunteers.
If you missed it, the next one is on September 5, but you can also find the exhibitors on http://www.pembrokeshireweddingfayre.com">www.pembrokeshireweddingfayre.com any day of the year.
