The 85th anniversary service of the Royal British Legion Women's Section was held at York Minster on Sunday, July 23, and Pembrokeshire County was represented by the county standard bearer, Miss Phillipa Jenkins, of Narberth branch, and Haverfordwest section by standard bearer Mrs. Doreen Warlow.
HRH the Duchess of Gloucester attended the service, which was conducted by the Lord Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu.
After the service, there was a parade of standards in the city centre with the Bands of the Lancashire Artillery Volunteers, and the Yorkshire Corps of Drums, and a flypast by the RAF's Diamond Nine Tucanos Team.
Later, at Knavesmire Field, near York Racecourse, there was afternoon tea, followed by the Beating of Retreat ceremony, where over 230 standards paraded.
