Last Sunday saw the South Pembs. County Pool team (from Narberth) travel to Haverfordwest in Division Three of the Welsh County League to play the Pembrokeshire team. A defeat for either team would leave them in trouble, and it was Narberth, with frame scores of (5-4) (4-5) (6-3) and (4-5), who ran out 19-17 winners. The bad news was that Newtown beat Port Talbot Druids 24-12 to go well clear at the top, while Carmarthen B won with a claimed match over Vale of Glamorgan by the same score and Vale get no points, which is the rule. Therefore, to gain promotion, they need to beat Carmarthen 22-14 in the last match next month and can't afford to lose heavily in case Haverfordwest win.
