Pembroke County Cricket Club will hold its annual gneral meeting on Wednesday, February 28, at Haverfordwest Cricket Club, commencing at 7.30 pm.. Affiliated clubs and individidual members who want to nominate officers or propose any rule changes should note that nominations for officers together with resolutions and amendments to the existing rules must be submitted to Bill Marchant at Cheriton, Rosemarket, Milford Haven, SA73 1JT, on or before Wednesday January 31. Once again a search is on for a county secretary following the regrettable resignation of Geordie Fraser, of Llanddewi Velfrey, on health grounds. Commenting about the role, former county secretary Bill Marchant, who served in the post for 18 years, said: "The role is now mainly a secretary to the executive committee, preparing the monthly agenda, taking minutes of the meetings and corresponding with clubs as the need arises. There is a great deal of help and support available to anyone who picks up the reins". Bill Marchant would also deal with any queries about the post in confidence and he can be contacted by telephone (01646) 600974. The popular Stanley Richards has completed his three years in office as county president and nominations are invited for that post, together with the post of Junior League organiser as Micky Phillips, of Haverfordwest, has decided to stand down due to his many other commitments. There are also two vacancies to be filled on the senior selection committee.
